Serious About Women's Cricket

Hampshire Cricket Board are delighted to announce that Serious Cricket will sponsor the successful W10 Programme now in its third year.

W10 is aimed at women and girls aged 13+ who fancy giving cricket a go for the first time in a fun and sociable environment.

Serious have agreed to an initial 3 year deal including:

• equipment bag for each new team
• discount on playing shirts
• free winter use of Dummer Cricket Centre

Participating clubs are provided with:

• playing kit
• 10 weeks' coaching
• entry to 2 summer tournaments

It's fast and fun, games last around 45 minutes and are played with a soft ball. 

There are 10 players per team who each bat for 10 overs (an over is when a bowler bowls the ball 6 times to the batter). 

The playing kit is for keeps so the fun can continue beyond the programme.

The Story So Far

12 new sides took part in 2015 and 2016, 11 of whom are still playing.  New for 2017 are Emsworth, Gosport Borough, IBM Hursley, Sparsholt  and Twyford.

This year's programme comprises 13 sides while 3 of the original teams are playing hard ball cricket in the Hampshire Cricket League Women's Divisions.
