Six Hampshire Hawks Players Selected in The Hundred Vitality Wildcard Picks

Six Hampshire Cricket players have been selected in The Hundred's Vitality Wildcard picks, completing the squads for the upcoming competition that runs from 5-31 August 2025

The selections showcase the strength of Hampshire's cricket pathway, with three men's players and three women's players earning spots across different franchises in the competition.

Men's Selections

Three Hampshire Hawks men have secured places in The Hundred squads, with two joining the Utilita Bowl-based Southern Brave, highlighting the strong connection between Hampshire and the franchise.

Toby Albert, graduated from the Hampshire academy in 2021, has been selected for Southern Brave. The young batter recently showcased his talent with an impressive unbeaten 98 in Hampshire's T20 Blast match against Glamorgan, demonstrating the form that caught the attention of The Hundred selectors.

Hilton Cartwright, Hampshire's Australian overseas player for the 2025 season, has also been picked up by Southern Brave. The batter has displayed some exciting big-hitting in recent matches for the Hawks, adding valuable firepower to the batting line-up.

James Fuller, the all-rounder known for his explosive batting, dynamic fielding and fast bowling, has been selected by Northern Superchargers. Fuller's versatility makes him a valuable asset in the 100-ball format.

I'm absolutely thrilled to be selected for Southern Brave and to have the opportunity to play The Hundred at my home ground. Coming through the Hampshire academy and now representing the Brave in this competition is a dream come true. I can't wait to get out there and show what I can do alongside some of the world's best players.

Women's Selections

Three Hampshire Hawks women have been chosen in the women's wildcard picks, all products of the Vipers Academy pathway, underlining the strength of the club's women's cricket development.

Abi Norgrove, a promising young batter, has been selected by London Spirit. Her selection rewards consistent performances and potential shown through the Hampshire system, including a recent explosive 54 from just 34 balls against Lancashire.

Daisy Gibb, a talented young seam bowler, joins Oval Invincibles, the franchise that has won the women's competition the most times. Her pace and skill have clearly impressed selectors.

Mary Taylor, a young fast bowler, has been picked by Birmingham Phoenix, where she will join her twin sister Millie.
