Dewald Brevis and Lhuan-dre Pretorius have been selected to represent South Africa for the first time, in a two match Test series against Zimbabwe in June and July.
Hampshire Hawks’ T20 overseas players, Dewald Brevis and Lhuan-dre Pretorius, have been selected for the South Africa Test Match Squad, for a two-match series against Zimbabwe, starting at the end of June. Their involvement with the national team means they will be unavailable to play in the second half of Hampshire Hawks’ Vitality Blast campaign.
Brevis, who took the IPL by storm with Chennai Super Kings last month, has already made his mark in the Vitality Blast. The 22-year-old all-rounder hit an astonishing 68 off 32 balls on debut at Utilita Bowl, in an innings which included six maximums, one of which came of his very first ball.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old Lhuan-dre Pretorius has been representing South Africa A on their current tour of West Indies, with Hawks fans eagerly awaiting his expected Utilita Bowl debut on Friday 13th June. The wicket-keeper batter has featured in the SA20 and IPL and is widely regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in world cricket.
