Southern Vipers Hosting Intra-Squad Matches At The Ageas Bowl
The Southern Vipers will play two intra-squad matches on The Ageas Bowl’s Nursery Ground on Friday 15th April
The Southern Vipers squad are coming together on Friday 15th April (Good Friday) to take eachother on in two intra-squad friendlies, the first of which starts at midday.
The matches will take place on the Nursery Ground and entry into The Ageas Bowl will be free, although there will be no on-site amenity support.
Gates will open at 11:30am for those wanting to come to the ground and entry is free for the two matches.
A Twenty20 match starts at 12:00pm with a T10 match to follow around 3:45pm.
Several players who played in the title-defending Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy final at Northampton will feature, including captain Georgia Adams, all-rounder Georgia Elwiss, batter Maia Bouchier, and winning-runs-hitter Emily Windsor.
Players from the Southern Vipers Academy, who are currently featuring in the Regional Academy Festival, will also take part, including 16-year-old Freya Kemp who will feature in the Southern Brave squad for this year’s Hundred competition.
We are hoping for a great showing on Good Friday at The Ageas Bowl. Two highly competitive teams will be giving their all in the hope of gaining Easter weekend bragging rights over their team mates!
This is the first outing of the season for the national 50-over champions and a fine prelude for our players to go off and represent their counties on Bank Holiday Easter Monday.
A T20 followed by a T10 will hopefully be enough to allow all players to release the winter shackles and get overs under their belt and time at the crease… May the best team take the spoils!
