Southern Vipers Overseas Roundup: Towards The Business End

Southern Vipers are playing on the other side of the world this winter with four Vipers out in Australia and New Zealand

Our Vipers have been in action again overseas, with players in action in grade cricket and the Super Smash.

Over in New Zealand, Linsey Smith has continued to put in strong performances for Otago Sparks, picking up 1-17 from four overs against Central Districts, and has taken five wickets in six matches for the Sparks.

Otago currently sit in third place with four wins from their eight games, whilst former Viper Amelia Kerr has taken figures of 10-23 in her last two matches for Wellington, and has scored more runs and taken more wickets than anyone else in the competition.

Rhianna Southby was back in T20 action for Box Hill CC in the Kookaburra Women’s Premier League in Victoria, although it wasn’t a successful weekend for her side.

Chasing 185 against Ringwood, Box Hill were bowled out for 95, although Southby was second-top scorer with 18 off 11.

Then in the afternoon against Essendon Maribyrnong Park, Southby made 22 as Box Hill were again bowled out for under 100, before the opposition chased it down in the 16th over.

Georgia Adams was also due to play for Manly Warringah but her matches were unfortunately rained off.
