Georgia Adams’ Adelaide Strikers defended their WBBL crown to give Georgia Adams her fourth professional trophy in 2023.
The Vipers’ captain also surpassed 1,000 professional T20 runs in the match, scoring six not out in a low scoring thriller at the Adelaide Oval.
The Strikers posted 125-5 with 39 from Laura Wolvaardt and 38 from Tahlia McGrath before Amanda-Jade Wellington’s 3-16 helped restrict the Heat to 122-8, defending six off the final ball.
The victory means it’s Adams’ fifth competitive trophy of 2023, including the Women’s County T20 win with Sussex at the start of the season.

Adams’ next assignment is with New South Wales Breakers as they take on Victoria on the 18th and 20th December in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL), as the light blue side currently sit in fifth, with one win and one loss from two matches.
Over in Mumbai, England A completed a comeback series victory over India A at the Wankhede Stadium.
After suffering a three-run defeat in the opening match, where Freya Kemp took 2-30 on her return to competitive bowling, England A went on to win the next two matches, playing out a couple of nail-biting games.
Charlie Dean took 2-36 in India A’s 149-9 before Maia Bouchier smashed three fours and a six as England A chased down their target of 150 with seven balls and four wickets remaining.
Taking the gloves, Rhianna Southby took a stunning one-handed diving catch to dismiss Kashvee Gautam for two.

In the third and final match of the series, Kemp’s 1-22 helped bowl India A out for just 101, before 27 from Northern Diamonds’ Hollie Armitage, 10* from The Blaze’s Kirstie Gordon, and 28* from Central Sparks’ Issy Wong helped England A over the line with just two wickets and five balls to spare.
England Women’s IT20 series against India begins on Wednesday 6th December, with Lauren Bell, Maia Bouchier, Charlie Dean, Freya Kemp, and Danni Wyatt all being selected in England’s IT20 squad, with Bell, Dean, and Wyatt all included in the Test squad.
