T20 Look Back: Scott Currie v Somerset

White ball bowler of the year Scott Currie ripped through Somerset's batting line up as the Hampshire Hawks registered a big victory

After Hampshire Hawks’ slow start in last year's Vitality Blast, the introduction of seam prodigy Scott Currie was a catalyst to their subsequent turnaround.

One of his many standout performances throughout the tournament came against Somerset at The Ageas Bowl.

Needing just three of his four allotted overs, Currie took career best figures of 4/24 as Hampshire dismissed the West Country side for only 100 runs.

The first wicket to fall to the Dorset born Currie was experienced batter James Hildreth who pulled a ball out to James Fuller on the deep midwicket boundary.

In the same over, Lewis Goldsworthy skied a pull shot from a short delivery and was easily pouched by Lewis McManus behind the stumps.

Roelof van der Merwe then miscued a drive down the ground off a clever change of pace from Currie, and the catch was neatly taken, once again, by Fuller at deep mid-off.

Currie then finished off the innings having Max Waller trapped infront of the crease with a ball that nipped back and was adjudged LBW by the umpire.
