Australian Duo Neser And Lehmann Join Hampshire For 2026
Australian all-rounder Michael Neser and batter Jake Lehmann join Hampshire for the 2026 season
Hampshire Hawks hosted rivals Sussex Sharks in the first ever Twenty20 fixture at the Rose Bowl in 2003.
Batting first, overseas all-rounder Wasim Akram helped set his side on their way, blasting the first ever six in cricket's new format and leading Hampshire to a total of 153 from their allotted overs.
Akram then backed up his runs with the ball, removing Matt Prior in the third over of the innings and in doing so, bringing up the County's first wicket in the competition.
His figures of 4-0-22-2 were the stand out as Hampshire snuck past their rivals by five runs in the inaugural Twenty20 contest.
