The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has today named the eight venues which will host the new T20 franchise competition which will be launched in 2020, as well as confirming the host venues for all High Profile Matches for the period 2020-2024.
Hampshire Cricket is delighted to announce that the The Ageas Bowl has been chosen as one of the host venues for this ground breaking new competition and has also been awarded a total of seven England International fixtures during this period.
We are hugely excited by the prospect of hosting one of the teams in the new Twenty20 Competition which starts in 2020 and is set to transform domestic cricket in England and Wales, and we also relish the opportunity to present regular International and First-Class cricket options to all our communities across the South of England.
David Mann, The Ageas Bowl Chief Executive Officer
The allocation of all High Profile Matches for the period 2020-2024, together with the names of the new T20 Host Venues was made following a tender process involving all eligible grounds in England and Wales, the results of which were today ratified by the ECB Board.
Full details and dates of all of the The Ageas Bowl’s international cricket fixtures between 2020 and 2024, as well as its new T20 team from 2020, will follow in due course.
The Ageas Bowl has seen record-breaking demand for this summer's Test match between England and India following the conclusion of a priority booking period last year, and this unprecedented interest has continued following the release of tickets on general sale.
