Hampshire leg-spinner Mason Crane claimed his third four-wicket haul of the season for Australian side Gordon CC, as they took on Sydney University in a two-day fixture on Saturday.
The 19-year-old followed up four-wicket hauls against NSW University CC and St George CC in previous weeks, with figures of 4-112 in the Grade One match-up to help restrict the visitors to 340 in their first-innings.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Sydney University began well with a century from Ryan Carters (113) and former Australian International Ed Cowan (58) helping his side reach 129-1.
However Crane was quick to make an impact with the ball, picking up the wickets of both batsman before grabbing two more, taking his tally to four wickets whilst also contributing a run-out with some sharp work in the outfield.
The second day of the contest is due to continue this Saturday (26th November) where Gordon will require 341 for victory as they aim to make it six wins from their opening six fixtures.
