Three Hampshire Men Earn Contracts With The ECB
Hampshire’s Liam Dawson, Sonny Baker, and Eddie Jack have all been awarded contracts with the ECB
Ahead of this Friday’s opening Vitality Blast fixture at the The Ageas Bowl, Hampshire Cricket and Sussex Sharks have been asking their fans to vote for their favourite players from both sides, with all votes submitted contributing to an All-Star XI.
The team, which can now be unveiled, features three 2019 Cricket World Cup winners with Jofra Archer, James Vince and Liam Dawson all included, with two players named in the tournament’s best XI also featuring, as Alex Carey fills the role of wicketkeeper-batsman alongside super-over hero Archer.
Former England internationals Luke Wright, Danny Briggs, Chris Jordan and Tymal Mills line-up in the combined side, as well as Afghanistan spin sensation, Rashid Khan. Hampshire top-order duo Rilee Rossouw and Sam Northeast round out the final XI.

A number of high-profile names narrowly missed out in the poll with South Africa all-rounder Chris Morris edged out by Jordan, seamer Kyle Abbott pipped to the post by Mills and England leg-spinner Mason Crane denied by Khan. The Hampshire trio will no doubt be looking to prove a point when the teams go head-to-head on Friday.
Hampshire take to the field for the competition opener later this week, as Vince's side begin their 2019 T20 campaign with the always highly anticipated ‘el clasicoast’ clash on Friday 19th July at the The Ageas Bowl.
Hampshire’s quest to reach an eighth Vitality Blast Finals Day in ten years continues with home fixtures against Kent (Sunday 21st July), Glamorgan (Friday 2nd August) and Surrey (Friday 16th August), with clashes against Somerset (Friday 9th August), Essex (Sunday 25th August) and Middlesex (Thursday 29th August) also arriving at the The Ageas Bowl.
Tickets, passports and hospitality packages for all of seven fixtures at the The Ageas Bowl this summer have been in record-breaking demand and are available online via the link below, via the new Hampshire Cricket App, over the phone on 0844 847 1863, in person from the The Ageas Bowl Ticketing and Membership Office (during normal working hours).
Situated an hour or less away from London, Portsmouth, Brighton and Reading, the The Ageas Bowl is easily accessible for anyone living in the South of England. With excellent transport links from all major train stations and ferry terminals in the area, as well as a Park & Ride Scheme, it couldn’t be easier to get to and from the ground.
