Three Hampshire Players Picked Up In PSL Draft

Hampshire skipper James Vince and James Fuller were selected by Karachi Kings and Liam Dawson was picked up by Lahore Qalanders in the 2023 Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft yesterday.

Vince played for Quetta Gladiators in last year’s competition, scoring 107 runs at an average of 21.40, but has made the switch to 2020 champions Karachi Kings for 2023.

He is joined at the Kings by James Fuller who, after a stellar 2022 Vitality Blast campaign, has played in the Abu Dhabi T10 League, is currently impressing in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) and has been picked up in the new SA20 tournament.

Finally, all-rounder Liam Dawson was also selected in the draft by current champions Lahore Qalanders. He played seven matches for Islamabad United in 2022, taking nine wickets with an economy rate of 6.76 and, in the second Eliminator, he provided the winning moment with back-to-back boundaries.

The 2023 PSL is scheduled to begin Thursday 9 February, with the final to take place on Sunday 19 March.
