Following the abandonment of Friday’s NatWest T20 Blast fixture between Hampshire and Sussex Sharks at the The Ageas Bowl the England and Wales Cricket Board have commented, confirming there was no negligence involved and that Hampshire Cricket’s groundstaff did everything that could have been expected of them.
ECB has gathered information from all parties on the events that led to the abandonment of the Hampshire v Sussex NatWest T20 Blast match on Friday 17 June and confirms that there is no negligence from Hampshire Cricket.

Hampshire Cricket and the The Ageas Bowl are sorry for the freak and unexpected conditions which led to the abandonment of what is always one of the most eagerly awaited fixtures of the year.
Those who purchased tickets for the match are entitled to exchange their match ticket for any other group stage NatWest T20 Blast match at the The Ageas Bowl in 2016 or 2017, with future 2016 fixtures listed below.
Sat 25 June – Hampshire v Gloucestershire (1:30pm)
Fri 8 July – Hampshire v Essex Eagles (7pm)
Thu 14 July – Hampshire v Glamorgan (7pm)
Fri 22 July – Hampshire v Middlesex (7pm)
Fri 29 July – Hampshire v Somerset (6:30pm)
Those wishing to exchange for the Hampshire v Gloucestershire match on Saturday 25th June can do so in person on Saturday from 11:30am (Gates Open 12pm, Match Starts 1:30pm) or between 9am and 5pm Monday (20th) through Friday (24th).
Those wishing to exchange for a later fixture can do so in person at the The Ageas Bowl (Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm) or by posting their ticket(s) to ‘T20 Ticket Exchange Dept, The Ageas Bowl, Botley Road, West End, Southampton, Hampshire, SO3O 3XH’ along with your name, postal address, contact number and the match for which you’d like to exchange your ticket(s) for.
Alternatively, those in possession of a valid Hampshire v Sussex Sharks match ticket are entitled to a full refund, with information on claiming this refund available via the link below.

The 10th edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup gets underway on 7 February, with Pakistan facing the Netherlands in the opening fixture. The tournament will be hosted across India and Sri Lanka, with the final set to take place on 8 March.
