Hampshire Women travel up to the north east to face Durham with a win securing a spot in the semi-finals
The planning application for the redevelopment of Utilita Bowl has been formally withdrawn, following in-depth consultation with Eastleigh Borough Council.
Hampshire Sport & Leisure Group, who operate the Utilita Bowl site, have confirmed that proposed redevelopment plans, which included a 135-bedroom hotel, high-quality independent living facility and a health and wellbeing centre, alongside residential development, will not be pursued in their current form.
Planning consent was refused by Eastleigh Borough Council in January following an extended consultation process.
A spokesperson from Utilita Bowl commented: “Since the rejection by Eastleigh Borough Council, of the planning application for the further development of the Utilita Bowl site in January 2024, the Hampshire Sport & Leisure Group has reflected on all the feedback on this application from both the Council and members of the public, and has concluded that it will no longer pursue the application.”
“Hampshire Sport & Leisure Group remains committed to the continued development and improvement of the Utilita Bowl site and will consider how this can be achieved whilst taking into consideration the lessons learned from this process and following further consultations with all stakeholders.”
