Men’s Bowling Coach Graeme Welch To Step Down
Hampshire men’s bowling coach Graeme ‘Pop’ Welch will leave the club and re-join Warwickshire at the conclusion of his tenure
Following the conclusion of the ICC World T20, James Vince and Liam Dawson have been made available to play in Hampshire’s opening match of the season by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
Hants will welcome the pair back for the game against Warwickshire at the The Ageas Bowl, starting on Sunday 10 April.
No final decision has yet been made on the availability of Reece Topley, who joined Hampshire from Essex at the end of last season. If he does not face the Bears, Topley will make his debut in Hampshire’s second fixture on Sunday week at Headingley against Champions Yorkshire.
Key England batsman Joe Root will take a break after another demanding winter in all forms of the game, which means he will not face Hampshire later this month. However, Yorkshire will have Adil Rashid, Jonny Bairstow, Gary Balance, Liam Plunkett and David Willey all available to play.
Elsewhere, England Test fast-bowler Jimmy Anderson has been made available to face Notts, Somerset and Hampshire – Lancashire’s first three games back in the Specsavers County Championship top flight.
