James Vince hit his career best score in T20 cricket as Hampshire won a thriller at Taunton to keep qualification hopes alive
With the 2022 season now firmly in the rear-view mirror we're taking a look back at some of the performances that caught the eye throughout the campaign
Hawks captain James Vince proved why he was one of the most destructive batters in the game at Taunton in 2022.
After losing opening partner McDermott in the first over, Vince was joined by Tom Prest, and the pair put together a partnership of 144 for the second wicket.
No other player made it out of single figures for the Hawks, but it did not matter. Vince's onslaught went from start to finish.
The right-hander finished with more sixes (10) than he did fours (9) in what was a masterclass in power hitting.
Vince carried his bat for the 20 overs and ended on a career-best score of 129*, as Hampshire racked up a massive total of 208/5.
Somerset put in a valiant effort in reply but fell 14 runs short. The victory gave Hampshire momentum, which helped the team sneak into qualification for the quarter-finals of the competition.
