Gayle & Samuels Return For England v West Indies

Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels could feature at the The Ageas Bowl as they return to the West Indies squad for their one-day series against England

Chris Gayle has been named in the West Indies squad for the upcoming One-Day International series against England next month, with the final game of the five-match series being played at the The Ageas Bowl.

Gayle has been absent for the visitors since his final ODI in March 2015, but the destructive batsman could be set to make a high profile return at the home of Hampshire Cricket this September.

Gayle is known for his six-hitting ability, hitting over 700 maximums on the way to surpassing 10,000 career T20 runs and has played in a number of nteranational and domestic tournaments including the NatWest T20 Blast, and the IPL.

The left-hander last played at the The Ageas Bowl in the 2004 Champions Trophy, and is set to return to the south coast after a 13-year absence.

There is also a space for batsman Marlon Samuels who, like Gayle, has also been recalled to the side having spent time away from the international scene to feature in a number of tournaments.

England last faced the West Indies in a three-match series in March and Eoin Morgan’s side will lock horns with Jason Holder’s men next month after the current Test series concludes.

Tickets are still available for the potentially series-deciding clash on Friday 29 September as Eoin Morgan's men will look to bring the curtain down on their summer endeavours in style.
