Unlike the men’s Ashes, the women play a multi-format series which each match having a certain number of points up for grabs.
The Test Match win is worth four points, whilst a win in each of the IT20s and ODIs is worth two points.
Southern Vipers’ fast bowler Lauren Bell and top order batter Danni Wyatt have both been selected to play in England Women’s Test Match, with Wyatt earning her first Test cap, and the pair are expected to be involved in the white-ball legs of the series along with Vipers teammates Charlie Dean and Maia Bouchier.
England Women last won the Ashes in 2013-14 where they beat Australia 10 points to eight, as crucial fifties from Arran Brindle and Charlotte Edwards, along with match figures of 7-99 from Anya Shrubsole, gave England a 61-run win in the Test Match in Perth.
Last time out in Australia, England Women failed to win a game, with two rained off IT20s and a thrilling drawn Test Match in Canberra giving them their four points.
This year, Australia will be without their captain, Meg Lanning, as she was ruled out of the tour on medical grounds, with wicket-keeper Alyssa Healy, who scored 170 against England in the final of the 2022 Cricket World Cup, taking over the reins.
Amongst the Ashes series, England A, featuring Maia Bouchier, Charlie Dean, Freya Kemp, and Linsey Smith, will play Australia A.

A limited number of tickets remain for England Women v Australia in the penultimate Ashes ODI at The Ageas Bowl on Sunday 16th July.
Tickets are available from £12 for adults and just £7 for Under 17s, but 90% of tickets have already been sold, with ticket sales across the country more than double what they were in 2022.
