Young Quick Eddie Jack Commits Future To Hampshire
20-year-old fast bowler Eddie Jack has signed a multi-year contract with Hampshire
Young quick Eddie Jack has committed his future to Hampshire by signing a multi-year contract until the end of the 2028 season.
The right arm fast bowler is currently on tour with England Lions in Australia where they have four matches from 13 November to 8 December shadowing the first two men’s Ashes Test matches.
Jack is a product of Hampshire’s impressive youth pathway and Academy with whom he featured 28 times from 2021-25 and helped the side lift the Southern Premier League title in 2024.
He made his Hampshire debut in 2023 and took 26 wickets in 16 matches for the Rose and Crown in 2025.

Having come through the Academy and grown up dreaming of representing Hampshire, I’m delighted to be offered the chance to continue playing for my boyhood club for the next three years. All the coaching staff and my fellow teammates have been instrumental in accelerating and enriching my development as a player, and I look forward to the continuation of that journey as I strive to advance my own game, and we continue to push for trophies across all three formats.
Eddie Jack
The pace bowler has previously featured 26 times for England Under 19s and took 41 wickets for the Young Lions with best figures of 5-57 coming against Bangladesh in November 2023.
He has since gone on to represent England Lions twice against India A where he dismisses Test players in Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Dhruv Jurel.
He was also recently awarded an ECB Development Contract for the first time.

Eddie is an exciting young talent, and we’re thrilled he’s staying at the club for another three years. The fact he’s with the England Lions at the moment is testament to the hard work he’s put in over the last few years, progressing through our Academy and pushing for places in the first XI. He’s an exciting young player with an excellent attitude and a real hunger to develop his game, and we’re looking forward to seeing how he continues to grow during his time here at the Utilita Bowl.
Giles White, Director of Cricket
Jack was Hampshire’s second-leading wicket taker in the Metro Bank One Day Cup with 13 wickets to his name as Hampshire reached the final for the second time in three years.
He picked up a further eight in the County Championship, including England batter Jordan Cox twice on debut at Chelmsford, and five in the Vitality Blast as the Hawks’ took part in a record 11th Finals Day.
