He was born in Tauranga, New Zealand and has signed for the first two months of the 2025 County Championship season.
A late bloomer, Hampton, 33, has played 38 First-Class games but has featured over 150 times in white ball cricket.
In the last two years, Hampton has been a standout player for Northern Districts in the Plunket Shield, the First-Class competition in New Zealand.
He has scored 873 runs at an average over 41 and taken 45 wickets at 21.53.
Hampton has two centuries and nine fifties to his name, with his highest score of 121 coming in November 2024 against Otago.
In the 2024-25 Plunket Shield, Hampton is the 10th leading run scorer with 451 runs from 12 innings, and the fifth leading wicket taker with 23.
