Australian Duo Neser And Lehmann Join Hampshire For 2026
Australian all-rounder Michael Neser and batter Jake Lehmann join Hampshire for the 2026 season
Edward Jack is a left-handed batter and right-arm medium-fast bowler
He was born in Barnet and is a product of Hampshire’s highly successful youth system.
He attended Canford School in Dorset and, to date, has featured 14 times for the club’s First XI, his first coming in the One-Day Cup during 2023.
He played six times during 2023, taking nine wickets at 25.11.

Jack would appear frequently for the England Under 19s at the U19s World Cup in late 2023. He played in five of England’s seven games, scoring 22 runs from three innings and taking four wickets.
The pace bowler played three times for the Hawks during the 2024 Vitality Blast, with his debut coming against Somerset at Utilita Bowl; he took two wickets with his first being former England batter Rory Burns.
Five further appearances came in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup, taking nine wickets. His 4-29 against Northamptonshire played a crucial part in Hampshire winning by 71 runs and making it out of the group stages.

Whilst still on the Academy, Jack helped the team to the title of the Southern Premier League as he took eight wickets and scored 127 runs, with one fifty.
He was awarded his first rookie contract alongside Academy teammate Dom Kelly at the end of the 2024 season.
In 2025, Eddie Jack continued his rise as one of England’s most promising young fast bowlers.
Jack’s growing reputation earned him a call-up to the England Lions squad, where he impressed against Zimbabwe and India A.
He dismissed international standard batters in Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Dhruv Kurel. His performances caught the attention of selectors, leading to an invitation to train with the senior England Test squad ahead of the India series.
His disciplined approach and grounded personality can be attributed to his Christian faith.
He took 13 wickets in eight Metro Bank One-Day Cup matches, the second most for Hampshire, with best figures of 3-70 coming against Nottinghamshire.

He also featured in the semi-final against Yorkshire, taking the key wicket of Adam Lyth and finishing with figures of 1-40, helping Hampshire reach the final of the competition for the second time in three years.
He made his debut in the County Championship against Essex at Chelmsford in one of the Kookaburra fixtures and claimed two wickets in the match with England international Jordan Cox his maiden Championship wicket.

Later in the year, Jack earned another Lions call-up, alongside Hampshire teammate Sonny Baker, to tour Australia and shadow the Ashes.
