Felix Organ is a right-hand batter and right-arm off-spinner.
He was born in Sydney, Australia and is a product of Hampshire’s highly successful youth system.
Organ featured in all of Hampshire’s age-group sides, impressing with his potential as a top-order batter and occasional off-spin as well as his leadership skills, leading Hampshire to the ECB Under 17 County Championship win in 2015.
After impressive performances for Hampshire Academy and Hampshire Second XI as a teenager, he made his First XI debut against Middlesex in the County Championship in September 2017, before signing a professional deal in 2018.
Organ captained the Hampshire Academy in the Southern Premier League for both the 2017 and 2018 seasons and lead the league in run scoring for the 2018 season with 843 runs. He also performed for the Second XI, scoring three hundreds in the Second XI Championship.
After being awarded his first professional contract, he became a regular fixture at the top of the order in 2019, featuring in the final six County Championship games to conclude the season.
His insertion into the side provided instant reward as Organ recorded his maiden century against Kent in only his third First-Class game, whilst also recording career-best figures of 5-25 to secure victory against Surrey to conclude the campaign.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a truncated 2020 domestic season, Organ did have an opportunity to feature in all five Bob Willis Trophy fixtures. He also made his T20 debut against Surrey.
A valuable member of Hampshire's four-day and One-Day squads in 2021, Organ provided some important contributions with both bat and ball. A season high score of 79 in the Royal London Cup was a highlight of his season.
Having begun the 2022 season batting at seven in the County Championship, he was pushed to the top of the order, where he excelled. 726 runs at an average of 31.56 with two centuries – including a career best of 118 against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham – was backed up by ten wickets. He was only one of just five players to play in all 14 games.
Organ made 16 appearances across the County Championship and Metro Bank One Day Cup during 2023. He made an important 97 against Somerset to help rescue a draw at Taunton.
Organ started the 2024 season strongly, taking 12 wickets across the opening three fixtures of the County Championship, including a third career five-for with 5-104 in the second innings against Surrey.
Important runs throughout the One Day Cup contributed to Hampshire’s run to the quarterfinals. 59 from 51 balls supported Ben Brown’s unbeaten century to propel Hampshire to 285-8, before picking up the key wicket of Ricardo Vasconcelos for 22 as Northants were beaten by 71 runs.
Against Somerset, he made 46* as he steered Hampshire to a four-wicket win, whilst 74* from 57 balls and bowling figures of 2-31 from 10 overs against Lancashire saw another comfortable 71-run win.
Organ finished the season having made 17 appearances across all competitions, scoring 370 runs and taking 22 wickets.
