Abi Norgrove
Abigail Emma Molly Norgrove was born in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire on 17th January 2006 and is a right-handed batter and right arm off spin bowler.
She is a product of the Vipers Academy and the Oxfordshire pathway, and made her senior debut for Southern Vipers debut, aged 17, against Sunrisers in a 50-over Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy match at Chelmsford in 2023.
She made eight runs on debut but scored 48 against a Thunder bowling attack containing Tara Norris, Mahika Gaur, Fi Morris, and Naomi Dattani.
In March 2024, Norgrove was named in England Women’s U19s tour of Sri Lanka, where she played five matches in the tri-series against Australia and hosts Sri Lanka.
She scored 84 runs with a top score of 31 and was England’s second leading run scorer in the competition behind Central Sparks’ Davina Perrin.
In the summer of 2024, Norgrove featured more regularly for Southern Vipers, playing in eight games, where she scored 205 runs with a best of 64 coming against The Blaze in a final over win at Chesterfield, where she put on 136 runs for the fifth wicket with Georgia Elwiss.
She was awarded her first professional contract with Hampshire at the end of the 2024 season as the regional teams transitioned into the first-class counties and was named as England’s captain for the 2025 ICC Women’s U19 Cricket World Cup in January.
