Megan Sturge
Megan Lily Sturge was born in Margate, Kent on 3rd November 2004 and is a right-handed batter, right arm off spin bowler, and wicket keeper.
She joined the Southern Vipers Academy in 2023 having moved from her native South East Stars, and made her senior debut for the Vipers in a Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy match against Sunrisers at Chelmsford in 2023.
She made six runs on debut and bowled Amara Carr to pick up her first wicket for the club.
Sturge is also a capable wicket keeper, working alongside Rhianna Southby in training, and made her keeping debut in place of the injured Southby in 2024, against South East Stars at Falkland CC where she took four catches.
Appearances for Kent and Hampshire the Vitality Women’s County T20 league yielded good results, with 82 runs and four wickets coming in five fixtures.
An unbeaten 45 from just 25 balls against Buckinghamshire, and 2-18 from four overs – in a match where she also made 33 – were the standout performances.
Featuring frequently for the Manly Warringah side in Australia over the winter of 24/25, Sturge made an unbeaten 53 from 47 balls to start her campaign and has also picked up five wickets from eight matches.
In 2025, it was announced Sturge would go on loan to Kent on a match-by-match basis with the ability to be recalled by Hampshire.
