Hampshire Cricket Board (HCB) is responsible for growing the recreational game in the county. We aim to inspire girls and boys to play cricket through the delivery of school, club and community-based programmes.
The Hampshire Cricket Board, in partnership with the Lord’s Taverners, wish to appoint a Disability Development Officer to deliver its Super 1s programme across Hampshire and manage the Disability Performance Programme. The officer will provide community based cricketing opportunities, for young people with disabilities. The Development Officer will use the power of cricket as a tool for change; increase confidence and independence as well as improving the communication and leadership skills of all participants. The Hampshire Disability Performance Programme incorporates our Super 9s and Academy teams which are both softball and our D40 teams which are hard ball and play in the National Disability Leagues.
This exciting role seeks an energetic and enthusiastic individual who has a passion for supporting and developing young people. The role combines coaching and development work and will be responsible for engaging young disabled people to become active members of community based Super 1s disability cricket hubs. The community hubs will provide a sense of belonging amongst participants and provide personal development opportunities to young disabled people through Sports Leaders, informal learning and other cricketing and non-cricketing activities.
