Hampshire Players To Compete For Silverware In Australia
Hampshire women’s captain Georgia Adams and all-rounder Charli Knott will play eachother in the final of the Women’s National Cricket League in Australia on Saturday 1st March
Hampshire captain Georgia Adams and Australian all-rounder Charli Knott will face off against eachother in the Women’s National Cricket League on Saturday 1st March.
The Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) is Australia’s equivalent of the One Day Cup, and Adams and Knott have been in action for New South Wales and Queensland respectively.
Adams has led her side to the final, with South Australia’s narrow defeat to Western Australia meaning New South Wales finished in second place, whilst Knott’s Queensland topped the table at the end of the round robin stage.
The final will take place at Allan Border Field in Brisbane overnight in the UK on Saturday 1st March.
Adams has scored 309 runs, the third most for NSW, and has taken 17 wickets, the second most for her state.
She has scored three fifties in the competition with a best if 78 coming against Western Australia in January where she also picked up figures of 3-17.
Knott meanwhile is the competition’s fourth-leading run scorer and Queensland’s top run-getter with 542, which included a century and an unbeaten 87 in back-to-back matches against Victoria.
The off spinner has also claimed 12 wickets with a best of 3-22 coming against WA.
The duo will both be in action for Hampshire in the Women’s Metro Bank One Day Cup and Vitality Blast this summer.
