Women's Team Physiotherapist

The Role

The Women's Team Physiotherapist will lead the delivery of physiotherapy services to the women’s academy programme while providing key support to the professional women’s squad across training and match environments.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality physiotherapy support for Hampshire women’s academy and pathway players.
• Provide additional support to the senior women’s professional programme during the season and intermittently throughout the year, through collaboration with the Lead Women’s Physiotherapist.
• Where necessary, and as directed by the Head of Science and Medicine, provide support across the men’s programmes during high-demand periods.
• Organise and conduct physical profiling for the women’s Academy and Pathway players three times per year.
• Provide player availability updates in collaboration with Lead Physiotherapists, S&C staff, and the Chief Medical Officer.
• Work collaboratively within our multi-disciplinary Science & Medicine team.
• Create and implement injury prevention strategies aligned with best practice.
• In collaboration with other academy medical and coaching staff, contribute to Long-Term Athlete Development planning and delivery. Develop robust internal and external monitoring systems which best inform player management in current and future academy cricketers at Hampshire Cricket.
• Work closely with the Head of Talent Pathway and specialist academy coaching staff to supplement player development plans. This requires the ability to thrive within a broad multi-disciplinary team.
• Maintain high standards of medical governance and clinical practice.
• Actively participate in Science & Medicine reviews and ongoing professional development.

Hours: Varied working hours and an expectation that the role holder can be present for some evenings, weekends and bank holidays. The demands for this schedule are seasonal and will therefore fluctuate throughout the year.

Salary: £38,000pa, permanent full-time contract.

Location: Utilita Bowl, Botley Road, West End, Southampton, SO30 3XH - with travel required for training sessions and match days.
