Presenting your End Of Season Award winners for 2025
Hampshire's Kyle Abbot was the mainstay of the 2025 End of Season Awards, as 10 players received trophies.
Hampshire bowlers Lauren Bell and Linsey Smith have been called up to England Women’s IT20 squad to take on India later this month.
The duo both featured for England Women in their recent matches against West Indies, where England won both the IT20 and ODI series 3-0.
Quick bowler Lauren Bell was England’s leading wicket-taker across the three IT20s with seven, and has taken 10 wickets in five matches for Hampshire in this year’s Metro Bank One Day Cup.
Smith meanwhile claimed her maiden international five-for on ODI debut as she claimed 5-36 and ten wickets in the five matches she played.
Spinner Smith is also Hampshire’s leading wicket taker in this year’s Metro Bank One Day Cup, and has the most wickets for any spin bowler in the competition.
We’re really looking forward to taking on India. They’re one of the best sides in the world and it’ll be a huge test for us. There was lots to be happy about in the West Indies series but equally lots of things we want to keep improving on – we’re always looking at getting better. Five games against India in front of big crowds at great venues will serve us really well. This is a significant series for us with the countdown well and truly underway towards the home ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
Charlotte Edwards, England Women's Head Coach
It’s great to have Soph back, and we’re looking forward to having her back in the group. She has obvious qualities and she’ll be an asset to us. It does mean Sarah Glenn misses out, we are blessed with a strong group of spinners and we unfortunately can’t play them all. It’s now a great opportunity for Sarah to go back to The Blaze and play some competitive cricket in the Vitality Blast.
