Hampshire Men return Rothesay County Championship action against Durham at Utilita Bowl over May Bank Holiday weekend
Lhuan-dre Pretorius is a left-handed opening batter and wicket keeper.
He was born in Potchefstroom, South Africa in 2006 and joined the club for the 2025 Vitality Blast off the back of the SA20 in which he was the competition’s leading run scorer, aged just 18 years old.
The left-hander made his professional debut in 2023 for South Africa Emerging against Knights where he made 57 runs off 45 balls.
He was selected in South Africa’s squad for the 2024 ICC Men’s Under 19s World Cup and topped the run charts for his country with 287 runs at an average of 57.40.
A domestic T20 debut then came for the Titans in the CSA T20 Challenge, with a First-Class debut coming in December 2024 where he made 120.
He then earnt a spot in Paarl Royals’ starting XI for the 2025 SA20 and made an instant impact on his franchise debut.
Pretorius scored 97 runs off just 51 deliveries against Liam Dawson and Adi Birrell’s Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
He recorded two more scores of 50+ with 83 against MI Cape Town and 59 in the second Qualifier, also against Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
The explosive opening batter ended the competition with 397 runs at an average of 33.08, whilst striking at a mammoth 166.80.
