Hip

Hip Physiotherapy

Specialist care for hip pain, injury, and post-surgical rehabilitation

The hip is a key weight-bearing joint essential for walking, running, and many day-to-day movements. When pain or dysfunction affects the hip, it can limit mobility and significantly reduce quality of life. At our clinic, our Hip Specialist Physiotherapists are highly trained in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of hip conditions - from soft tissue injuries to complex joint disorders and post-operative recovery.

We focus on reducing pain, restoring strength and mobility, and helping you return to the activities that matter most to you.

Conditions We Treat

Our hip Physiotherapy team regularly assesses and manages a broad range of conditions, including:

  • Avulsion injuries and fractures of the hip and pelvis
  • Hip bursitis (inflammation of the fluid-filled sacs that cushion the surrounding structures)
  • Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI)
  • Hip dysplasia (congenital or acquired)
  • Muscle injuries, including the glutes, hip flexors, and adductors
  • Hip osteoarthritis
  • Post-operative rehabilitation following total hip replacement
  • Snapping hip syndrome (internal, external, or intra-articular causes)
  • Tendon injuries, including gluteal tendinopathy and hip flexor strain

Our Approach

Our approach begins with a detailed assessment to identify the underlying cause of your symptoms. From there, we create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your specific diagnosis, activity level, and goals. Treatment may:

  • Manual therapy
  • Exercise prescription
  • Joint mobilisation
  • Gait retraining
  • Education to help you manage your condition effectively

We also work closely with patients recovering from hip replacement surgery, providing staged rehabilitation to support healing, improve strength, and restore full mobility.

Whether you're recovering from surgery, managing chronic pain, or dealing with an acute injury, our team are here to guide you with expert care and support.
