The Ageas Bowl, the home of Hampshire Cricket and Hilton Southampton – The Ageas Bowl are recruiting for a MICE Sales Manager.
Job Title: MICE Sales Manager
Reports To: Director Of Sales
Location: The Ageas Bowl
To promote the The Ageas Bowl venue, including Hotel and Stadium facilities by effectively marketing and pro-active selling within the local and national market place.
The role requires continuous field sales research into competitive property and rate intelligence, key account sourcing and agent visits. This is not an office based role as it requires approximately 80% of time spent in the field (main national cities), engaging with potential new clients, proactive sales and research, and managing the local/national agent accounts.
1) Deliver effective diary management in order to capitalise on demand and drive occupancy and rates where possible
2) Ensure the use of rates guidelines set by Corporate Revenue Manager and Director of Sales, without going below the MAR (Minimal Achievable Rate) as set by the business
3) Secure as many appointments and show-rounds for guests enquiring as possible, to aid in conversion and developing Customer relationships
4) Ensure activities and tasks set in Sales Force against all enquiries are actioned and up-to-date to ensure maximise on all booking opportunities
5) To work as a team in order to deliver and achieve quarterly targets, pre-set according to business needs
6) Deliver the Sales and Marketing plan which accurately interprets the objectives of the business. Use this to focus own and other members of the hotel team’s efforts over all market segments
7) Contribute to development of company sales and marketing initiatives, recommending, implementing and monitoring appropriately
8) Assist the venue team in fully utilizing the available market intelligence for developing strategic plans and better understanding of the competition and the business trends.
9) Utilise all Interstate sales initiatives to include ‘Who Goes There’ ‘Guest Who’ & ‘Sales Blitzes’
10) Undertake training on Hilton Lobby and maintain Hilton Now brand messages and actions
11) Cross selling to Interstate and Hilton portfolio
12) Develop accounts and use existing knowledge to reach other key individuals
13) Supporting business needs on weekends and late evenings e.g. to attend exhibitions, seminars and networking events.
14) Reporting, to include submitting a monthly report, completing hotel trackers and meeting the minimum standards of use of Salesforce
15) Foster a successful partnership with Hilton account managers, attending workshops twice a year
16) Maintain and develop effective relations throughout the business, in particular with cricket sales team, colleagues, property Sales and Events Manager and the reservations team
17) To be up to date and knowledgeable on competitor activity and new regional developments
18) Perform other duties as requested by the Line Manager
