Georgina qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1993 and has established a broad clinical background across both the UK and Australia, working in the NHS and private practice. She has worked predominantly within the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, and since 2000 has been based in Southampton treating patients with an extensive range of lower limb pathologies in particular.
Georgina holds a specialist interest in knee pain, injuries and surgery. Since 2007, she has served as a Lower Limb Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Southampton, focusing on knee and hip conditions, working in close collaboration with Orthopaedic consultants, and treating lower limb pathologies in the physiotherapy department. She has led on and developed the post-operative physiotherapy management of lower limb pathology within the local health service. Georgina also brings experience from the local Primary Care Lower Limb Musculoskeletal Triage Team, where she was the Lower Limb Clinical Lead, and also managed and treated patients with a range of knee pathologies, from sports injuries to degenerative conditions.
In 2004, Georgina earned an MSc with distinction in Sports Injuries and Therapy, presenting her thesis regarding Validation of the Dorsiflexion Lunge Test in Bologna, Italy, and has since contributed as a co-author on several research papers collaborating with Orthopaedic surgeons and also with Southampton University. Georgina has presented research work at an international conference in Rio de Janeiro as well as more recently nationally in conferences such as the British Association for Surgery of the Knee.
