Match Preview: Hampshire Men v Durham, Rothesay County Championship
Hampshire Men return Rothesay County Championship action against Durham at Utilita Bowl over May Bank Holiday weekend
With this year's Vitality Blast campaign just around the corner - and to mark the 20th edition of the competition being staged this summer - we've taken a trip down memory lane, looking back at some of the most memorable performances from the past 19 seasons. Next up is Danny Briggs' five wicket haul against Durham back in 2011.
The early 2010’s was a dominant time for Hampshire’s T20 side.
Hampshire reached Finals Day for the first five years of the decade, being crowned champions in 2010 and 2012.
A key part to the success of the team was the blend of youth and experience including older players, like Dominic Cork, and youngsters, with Danny Briggs a fine example.
Four of the left arm spinner’s wickets were top five batters for Durham, proving his destructive capabilities anywhere in the innings.
Briggs finished with figures of five wickets from four overs while only going at 19 runs with an economy rate of just 4.75
Earlier in the day, Hampshire had scored 154 from their 10 overs, which proved 55 too many for the visitors as they were dismissed for only 99.
Tickets and Passports for the all of Hampshire’s 2022 Vitality Blast fixtures are now on general sale and are currently available at the discounted Early Bird rate - but only until Monday 9th May.
