Sydney Sixers and Sussex Sharks’ opening batter Dan Hughes replaces Finn Allen for Southern Brave’s opening match against London Spirit on Wednesday 24 July at Utilita Bowl.
Hughes, 35, has played 119 T20 matches with a best of 96*, coming against Middlesex on 19 July, whilst striking at a shade under 130 runs per 100 balls.
He is currently the leading run scorer in the Vitality Blast, with 560 runs to his name, as Sussex Sharks secured a home quarter final against Lancashire.
The powerful left-hander is a serial lifter of silverware, having won back-to-back Big Bash League titles with Sydney Sixers, a side featuring Brave captain James Vince, in 2020 and 2021.
