21-year-old Hampshire fast bowler Eddie Jack has been called up to England’s IT20 squad for their series against Australia, with Sonny Baker and Liam Dawson are also part of the tour
Young Hampshire fast bowler Eddie Jack has been named in a senior England squad for the first time.
The 21-year-old is included in the Three Lions’ IT20 squad, which will play Australia in November in a five-match series following a three-match ODI series.
Pace bowler Sonny Baker and Liam Dawson are also included in the tour as both are named in the ODI squad, with Dawson named alongside Jack for the IT20s.
Jack has featured prominently for the England Lions and made his first-class debut against India A in May 2025, taking wickets of Test players Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Kumar Reddy.
In his seven matches for England Lions, he has taken 14 wickets with best figures of four for 85 coming against South Africa A at Beckenham this summer.
He has featured in seven T20 Blast matches for Hampshire and has taken eight wickets as the Hawks have made the final on the last two occasions.
The returns of Jacob Bethell and Jofra Archer for the ODI series mean that we will be at close to full strength as we ramp up preparations for a World Cup in a year’s time. The four quick bowlers will then leave after the three-game ODI series as we look to manage them ahead of the Test tour of South Africa.
Our T20 team has been in excellent form under captain Harry Brook, and we are looking forward to the opportunity to test ourselves in Australian conditions against a very good team.
We will have four uncapped players in an exciting IT20 squad including Thomas Rew and Eddie Jack, both of whom toured Australia with the England Lions last year, and who earn their first England call-ups.

Sonny Baker and Liam Dawson are included in the ODI squad, as England’s preparations for the Men’s Cricket World Cup next winter continue to build up.
The duo were part of England’s 2-1 series win over Sri Lanka in September. They both played in the final match at the Oval, which England won by 223 runs. Baker picked up one for 27 in four overs whilst Dawson claimed three for 26, his best figures in ODI cricket.
Since his recall to the England set-up, Dawson has taken 34 wickets in 28 IT20 matches.
All three players have been awarded ECB contracts; Sonny Baker has earned a two-year central contract, with Dawson on a one-year deal. Jack has been given another Development contract.
