Eliza Bristowe And Shristi Patil To Represent England U19s
All-rounder Eliza Bristowe and batter Shristi Patil have been named in England U19s’ 15-player squad to play in next year's World Cup
Hampshire all-rounder Eliza Bristowe and Academy batter Shristi Patil have been named in England’s U19s squad for their winter programme.
The 15-player squad will take part in the U19s World Cup in January-February 2027 and will also feature in a five-match T20 series in India starting in late November.
Bristowe, 18, earned her first professional contract this summer, and made her Hampshire debut against Glamorgan in the Vitality T20 Women’s County Cup.
She went on to take three wickets against Somerset in the quarter-final of the competition and featured in the Metro Bank One Day Cup squad that finished runners-up for a second year running.
Patil, 17, is part of the Vipers Academy and came through the Berkshire pathway. She joined the Academy in 2024/25 after two years on the Emerging Players Programme.
This summer, Patil has racked up over 500 runs for the Academy at an average of 43.75, with three fifties and one unbeaten century.
Both players have previously represented England U19s in their tri-series against Australia and Sri Lanka, in Australia, last winter.
This is an exciting opportunity for this group of players who will be the best-prepared squad we will have sent to the U19 Women’s World Cup. The aspiration, as always, is to win the U19 World Cup. Taking on board learnings from previous campaigns, we have gone about things slightly differently this time, ensuring that our players are getting some game time outdoors much closer to the tournament. The goals for the winter are dual-focused. We want to win the World Cup, and we are also developing players and helping them prepare for what their career might look like in a professional environment.
