Fans’ Favourite Mohammad Abbas Moment Of 2022 Revealed

Hampshire fans have voted Mohammad Abbas' four second innings wickets in the dramatic final day against Northamptonshire as their favourite moment of the bowler’s 2022 season.

Abbas' first wicket of the final innings was an unusual one, and not one Josh Cobb will look back on too fondly.

With rain in the air, the umpires called the cover on, only to send them back seconds later when the Northamptonshire batters had reached the boundary rope.

Forced back on, Abbas steamed in to Cobb and hit him on the pad, the umpire raised his finger, and the heavens opened.

Once the rain had died down, play resumed, and Abbas was quickly in the action again.

Northamptonshire resisted, but Abbas still found a way through as he found the inside edge of Tom Taylor's bat, and Aneurin Donald dove to his left to take the catch.

Less than four overs later, Mo took the ninth wicket, bowling Ben Sanderson and knocking his off stump out of the ground.
