Hampshire Hawks Playing Shirt Unveiled With £5 From Every Shirt Sold Donated To NHS
The Club will make a £5 donation to Southampton Hospitals Charity for every Hawks shirt sold during the 2021 season
Hampshire Hawks are delighted to unveil the new New Balance playing kit for this year's Vitality Blast, alongside a commitment to raise further funds for Southampton Hospitals Charity in 2021 with a £5 donation to be made for each Hawks shirt sold during the 2021 season.
The unveiling is part of the Club's reintroduction of the Hawks for T20 cricket, starting from this summer’s Vitality Blast.
This fundraising support follows the Club’s commitment to make a donation for each LV= Insurance County Championship shirt sold in 2021, alongside a number of other fundraising initiatives being run to raise funds for Southampton Hospitals Charity and University Hospital Southampton.
The Hawks brand is a familiar one for Hampshire fans and one closely aligned with T20 history - it was the Hawks who contested the first ever T20 match following the format’s inception in 2003 – and its return helps celebrate a memorable era from 2003-2009, one which included two limited-overs trophies.
The first incarnation of the Hawks ran until the end of the 2009 season with the Club then playing white-ball cricket as the Hampshire Royals from 2010-2013 following a partnership with IPL side, Rajasthan Royals. 2014 saw the Club make the move to become Hampshire Cricket across all three domestic formats.
The Hawks’ reintroduction comes hot-on-the-heels of the announcement confirming fans can return to sports arenas from Monday 17th May and follows record-breaking demand for tickets and passports for this summer's Vitality Blast fixtures at The Ageas Bowl.
Tickets for Hampshire Hawks’ T20 double-header on Friday 16th July – which will see James Vince’s side face Essex Eagles and local rivals Sussex Sharks in ‘el clasicoast’ on the same day – have been in particularly high demand, with the double-header the fastest-selling T20 fixture on record at The Ageas Bowl.
Vitality Blast Passports, allowing access to all seven of Hampshire Hawks’ action-packed T20 matches at The Ageas Bowl this summer for just £119, have also been hugely popular, with already more Passports sold for 2021 than in any previous season.
Buoyed by Hampshire’s ‘Ticket Refund Promise’ groups of friends, families and colleagues have been booking a date for their summer socials at The Ageas Bowl. All seven Hampshire Hawks home matches will take place after Monday 21st June as part of a bumper schedule of T20 action, with crowds returning to The Ageas Bowl as Hampshire aim to reach a ninth Vitality Blast Finals Day.
