Hampshire Women will host a day-night eliminator match on Wednesday 16th September, having been confirmed as second in the table

Hampshire Women are through to the knockout stages of the Metro Bank One Day Cup for a second year running, with Georgia Adams' side hoping they can go one step further than in 2025 and lift the trophy on home soil come Saturday 19th September.
The Rose and Crown were runners-up last year and have won 11 matches out of 16 – five of which have come with a bonus point – in a year that has seen them field England players few and far between due to the T20 World Cup.
The team are now well placed as they go into an eliminator, where victory will see them take on current Vitality Blast and T20 County Cup champions, The Blaze.
Hampshire’s opposition will be confirmed on Saturday 12th September when the final round of group fixtures reaches its conclusion.
They will face the winner of Surrey v Somerset, with both sides third and fourth respectively, at Utilita Bowl from 12:30pm (gates open at 11:30am) on Wednesday 16th September.
Winning the One Day Cup will not only mark their first silverware as Hampshire, but also stop The Blaze from completing the domestic treble as they enter their last year under the fiery moniker.
2026 was supposed to be a year of transition for Hampshire. Head Coach Paul Prichard had taken over on a permanent basis following Charlotte Edwards’ departure for England, experienced seamer Freya Davies retired from the game, and up-and-coming all-rounder Mary Taylor – who scored a half-century in last year’s semi-final – departed for Warwickshire.
Add those to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup this year, where England’s Lauren Bell, Linsey Smith, and Freya Kemp featured on the Three Lions’ road to the final, and it would be a monumental effort for the Hampshire team to equal their performances from 2025.
But the Rose and Crown haven’t just matched 2025; they’ve bettered it. Confirmed as second in the One Day Cup, the team will play in the Eliminator on Wednesday 16th September.
Along with qualifying for their first-ever women’s Vitality Blast Finals Day, the season has been a roaring success.
Overseas star Amanda-Jade Wellington has been impactful with both bat and ball. She has claimed two five-fors for the club this year; her first included a hat-trick against Essex in the Vitality Blast, and her second against Yorkshire in front of a home crowd at Utilita Bowl in the One Day Cup.
Maia Bouchier has been in scintillating form all summer. She has scored four centuries across all formats and teams – including her first for Hampshire, a 143 against Somerset – and eight fifties.
Standout moments of the One-Day campaign include Hampshire’s ten-wicket victory over Essex at Chelmsford, when Bouchier and Ella McCaughan both reached three figures as they chased down 246, along with the demolition of Durham in the third game of the season, where Lauren Bell’s five-for skittled the visitors for 118.
The team have won 12 out of their 16 matches, six of which came with a bonus point.
They are now just two wins from lifting the trophy for the first time.
