Match Preview: Hampshire Hawks v The Blaze & Middlesex, Vitality Blast Double Header
Hawks Men can guarantee a spot in the top two of the South Group, whilst Hawks Women require just one victory to reach Finals Day
Hampshire’s Katie George has been named in the England Women’s Academy (EWA) squad for the training camps taking place this winter.
George was named in the EWA as part of an announcement of three squads which constitute the England women’s cricket pathway and features 54 players.
Ranging from the England Women’s Performance Squad (EWPS), led by England women’s captain Charlotte Edwards, to the England Women’s Development Programme (EWDP), the three squads will start training from October at the National Cricket Performance Centre (NCPC) in Loughborough.
George will be looking to impress interim EWA head coach Jonathan Finch, who has replaced Lisa Keightley, who will be returning to her native Australia in October to take up a role with the Western Australia Cricket Association.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Lisa Keightley for her hard work with the England Women’s Academy over the last four and a half years. Her passion, determination and brilliant coaching capabilities have helped develop the Academy into a world class programme, and we wish her all the very best as she pursues new opportunities back home in Australia.
