Hampshire Cricket Head Coach

The Role

Hampshire Cricket is seeking an exceptional Head Coach to drive the Club to sustained success in all formats of the game.

The Head Coach will collaborate closely with the Director of Cricket to establish key values and foster a culture that encourages consistent improvement and peak performance.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee the performances of the 1^st XI and deliver results through a positive brand of cricket.
• Lead the coaching and support team responsible for preparing and performing both the 1^st XI and 2^nd XI sides.
• Identify and develop players with the potential to excel at domestic and international levels.
• Maintain a positive relationship with the Club captains and provide appropriate support to their role.
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Cricket and the Club captain on team selection, ensuring the 1^st XI has the best opportunity to perform at its full potential.
• Work closely with the Club’s support staff, including the medical and strength and conditioning teams, to ensure players are well-prepared for consistent high-level performance.
• Assist in the recruitment and retention of players, coaching, and support staff.
• Conduct one-on-one appraisals with players, coaching, and support staff, submitting written analyses to the Director of Cricket.
• Conduct bi-annual reviews on the performance of coaching and support staff.
• Adhere to and promote the Club’s key values.

Hours: Flexible approach to working hours due to the seasonal nature of the role. Emphasis on availability will be during the cricket season and competition schedules.

Salary: Based on experience

Location: Utilita Bowl & Hilton Southampton - Utilita Bowl, Botley Road, West End, Southampton, SO30 3XH, however the role requires extensive UK and possible overseas travel.
