Jack Named In England Lions Squad For Sri Lanka Tour Match

Hampshire fast bowler Eddie Jack has been named in England Lions' 12-player squad for an upcoming tour match against Sri Lanka

Eddie Jack has earned his first England Lions call up for the one off tour match against Sri Lanka on the 14th August.

A 12-man England Lions squad has been named for the four-day match against Sri Lanka at New Road.

Kasey Aldridge, Lyndon James, Ollie Price and James Rew are due to join a strong squad after they were all part of the England Lions set-up during the winter.

England Men Under-19s quartet Farhan Ahmed, Eddie Jack, Ben McKinney and Hamza Shaikh are also included after the recent Young Lions home series against Sri Lanka.

Gloucestershire’s Zaman Akhter, who is a graduate of the South Asian Cricket Academy, earns his first call-up to the Lions. The match begins on Wednesday 14 August.

England Lions 12-player squad: Farhan Ahmed (Nottinghamshire), Zaman Akhter (Gloucestershire), Kasey Aldridge (Somerset), Josh Hull (Leicestershire), Eddie Jack (Hampshire), Lyndon James (Nottinghamshire), Ben McKinney (Durham), Ollie Price (Gloucestershire), James Rew (Somerset), Hamza Shaikh (Warwickshire), Ajeet Singh Dale (Gloucestershire), Rob Yates (Warwickshire)

We’ve selected an exciting squad which brings a balance of exceptionally high-potential cricketers and proven performance. This selection follows on from the First-Class Counties representative XI fixture early in the summer where some of the brightest talent excelled against the West Indies.
I have every confidence that we will continue to see these players enjoy, thrive and excel in the international arena, which for some will be their first full England Lions exposure.

Ed Barney, England Men's Performance Director
