James Vince Receives England Test Call-Up

The Hampshire skipper has been named in England's latest Test squad for next week's Test at the The Ageas Bowl

Hampshire captain James Vince has been called up to England's squad for this week's fourth Specsavers Test match against India at the The Ageas Bowl.

Vince is part of a 14-man squad named for next week's clash at his home ground, providing cover if Jonny Bairstow's finger injury, suffered at Trent Bridge, causes him to be unavailable.

The 27-year-old right-hander last played for England in Christchurch in April against New Zealand, striking 76 batting at three.

He has also been in superb form for Hampshire so far this year, averaging 56.46 in Division One of the County Championship so far this summer, whilst offering match-winning contributions to guide his side to Royal London One-Day Cup glory.

James returns to the England set-up in confident form and scoring runs. He has been in excellent form for Hampshire in the Specsavers County Championship, with 847 runs at 56, including 74 and 147 this week - runs that shaped Hampshire's win against Nottinghamshire.

James' match-winning runs also helped Hampshire to win the Royal London Cup earlier this summer.
