Match Preview: Gloucestershire v Hampshire, Royal London Cup

A 14-man squad has been named for tomorrow's away Royal London Cup fixture against Gloucestershire at Bristol

Hampshire will be looking to continue the positive momentum obtained in this week’s emphatic win over Worcestershire as they head back on the road to take on Gloucestershire at Bristol in the latest round of Royal London Cup action.

Kyle Abbott’s men cruised to victory at The Ageas Bowl on Wednesday courtesy of a first career List A five-wicket haul for the captain, and with the opportunity to add to their tally further on Friday, will have their sights set on successive 50-over triumphs to continue climbing the table.

Hampshire Squad:

An unchanged 14-man squad has been named for Friday’s fixture.

Alongside Abbott’s superb spell, promising young seamer John Turner impressed with the ball against Worcestershire, picking up three wickets with his sharp pace and accuracy causing batsmen problems. The duo will again lead the attack with the new ball at Bristol.

Nick Gubbins continued his outstanding Royal London Cup campaign last time out too, as he reached fifty for the third time in four List A appearances. Tom Alsop also looked in excellent touch to record a half-century at The Ageas Bowl and the duo will once again be crucial to the side’s chances of posting or chasing a big total.

James Vince, Liam Dawson, Mason Crane, Chris Wood and Brad Wheal remain absent again this week due to their respective commitments in The Hundred.
