Match Preview: Hampshire v Sussex, Friendly

James Vince will again lead a strong squad for this week's friendly fixture against Sussex at The Ageas Bowl

Hampshire’s 2021 pre-season preparations continue tomorrow with local rivals Sussex the opponents for a two-day red-ball friendly fixture at The Ageas Bowl.

Hampshire Squad:

A 13-man squad has been named for this week’s fixture, starting on Thursday.

New overseas signing Mohammad Abbas is included in the squad for the fixture with the potential that he could be involved at some point in the match, although he isn’t expected to play on Thursday.

Captain James Vince will again lead a side that otherwise largely remains unchanged, with Kyle Abbott set to step-up his preparations for the 2021 campaign as he lines-up for his second match at The Ageas Bowl since arriving from South Africa.

Hampshire Academy prospects James Trodd and Harry Petrie are also included for 12th man duties across the two days.

Aneurin Donald (ACL rehabilitation) and Keith Barker (hamstring) are both unavailable as they recover from injury.
