Hampshire host Yorkshire in the women’s Metro Bank One Day Cup, with the Rose and Crown already qualified for the knockout stages of the competition.
Georgia Adams made her second century of the competition in an emphatic nine-wicket victory over Durham on Wednesday, with Abi Norgrove recording her third successive half-century.
Amanda-Jade Wellington is now the leading wicket-taker in the competition, thanks to her three for 30, whilst Poppy Tulloch claimed her best figures for Hampshire with three for 38.
Yorkshire were defeated in a low-scoring thriller at Headingley on Wednesday, as they lost by just five runs to Somerset.
Chasing only 130, the White Rose were bowled out for 125 as spinner Chloe Skelton picked up four for 28.
Powerful left-hander Ami Campbell top-scored with a brisk 35 from 17 balls, but Yorkshire lost their last five wickets for just 16 runs.
In the first innings, England spinner Sarah Glenn, Scotland seamer Hannah Rainey, and Durham-born pacer Jess Woolston claimed three wickets each.
Last time Hampshire and Yorkshire met in the women’s One Day Cup, Francesca Sweet scored her first professional fifty whilst opener Ella McCaughan made 51 and Amanda-Jade Wellington blitzed 41 off 27 balls; the Rose and Crown got over the line by 16 runs (DLS method).

Hampshire have named a 14-player squad for their match against Yorkshire at Utilita Bowl.
Maia Bouchier and Freya Kemp are away on international duty for England’s ODI series against Ireland, whilst Lauren Bell and Linsey Smith remain unavailable.
Spinner Ava Lee returns to the squad in place of Hannah Hardwick.

Winter moves: International spin-bowling all-rounders Sarah Glenn (England) and Jess Jonassen (Australia) have signed two-year deals, the latter as an all-format overseas and the former coming from The Blaze. Scotland seamer Hannah Rainey joined on loan from Lancashire late last summer ahead of a permanent move. Another spin-bowling all-rounder, Olivia Thomas, has been elevated from an Academy to a professional contract. Kevin Sharp returns to Yorkshire as an assistant coach.
The big question: How will Yorkshire fare in their first season in Tier 1? They enjoyed a successful Tier 2 campaign last year, winning the Metro Bank One-Day Cup, reaching the final of the Vitality Blast and the quarter-finals of the T20 County Cup. But this summer, it will be a different ball game. Head coach Rich Pyrah and Yorkshire’s management have confidence in the players’ ability but have urged patience.
Player to watch: Vice captain Maddie Ward, 21 years old, can do it all. She can keep wicket, bat in a dynamic and inventive fashion, bowl spin when required and is a gun in the field. She even skippered Yorkshire last season when Lauren Winfield-Hill wasn’t available. When she first did it in June, aged 20 years and 133 days, Worksop-born Ward became the county’s second-youngest ever captain – female or male.
Final thought: Yorkshire are very much looking at this as a long-term project. Results are not the be-all and end-all this season, across all formats. Development is more important to them. But if they can take a couple of scalps along the way, it would be a real shot in the arm for the White Rose county. And a Roses win against champions Lancashire would be ideal.
