Hampshire take on Lancashire at Emirates Old Trafford in the Vitality County Championship this week.

A rain-affected draw with Essex last time out means that James Vince's side still sit fourth in Division One, eight points off of third.

Meanwhile, Lancashire have had a difficult season so far, currently occupying ninth place with four defeats from their ten matches.

Both sides met at Utilita Bowl earlier in the season, with the match ending in a draw after four days.

Hampshire have named a 13-player squad for the match against Lancashire.

Toby Albert and Tom Prest both made their First-Class career best scores during the draw with Essex last time out, while Ben Brown continued his fine form this season with a half-century.

Muhammad Abbas, Kyle Abbott and Liam Dawson were amongst the wickets.

Lancashire

Captain: Keaton Jennings

Lancashire have been a strong team in the red-ball format over the last few years. In 2022 they leapfrogged Hampshire to finish second in the final round of matches, while last year saw them secure fifth place. This season has been more of a challenge for the Red Rose though, with just two wins and six defeats from their ten matches so far leaving them sat in ninth – above only Kent.

Skipper Keaton Jennings has without doubt been the standout player for Lancashire, with a total of 879 runs – which includes four centuries. The likes of Josh Bohannon and Luke Wells are also proven options with the bat, as well as India's Venkatesh Iyer. All-rounder George Balderson leads the way with the ball, alongside the now departed Nathan Lyon, and is part of a talented attack that includes Will Williams, Tom Hartley and Tom Bailey. Lancashire have also given opportunities to a number of youngsters throughout their County Championship campaign such as Matthew Hurst, Tom Aspinwall and Rocky Flintoff.
