Southern Vipers v The Blaze

Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy

Tuesday 11th June (10:30am start)

Southern Vipers make the trip to the Isle of Wight for the first time as they take on the currently unbeaten The Blaze in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.

Charlotte Edwards’ side last won a match against Central Sparks on 1st May having suffered defeat to the Sparks at Hove and the Sunrisers at Chelmsford, before a thrilling tie against Thunder at Southport.

Emily Windsor continues her good run of form in the 50-over competition as she made 49 in the north west along with 48 from Academy graduate Abi Norgrove, whilst new signing Maitlan Brown took 3-52 in her first outing as a Viper.

The Blaze have won five of their seven matches, with two no results.

However, they will be without their leading run-scorer, Tammy Beaumont, after her call-up to the England Women’s ODI squad, but they will have South Africa’s Nadine de Klerk on their side who has taken 10 wickets in five matches, including 7-33 against last year’s winners, Northern Diamonds.
