Southern Vipers have named a 14-player squad to take on Thunder at Emirates Old Trafford on Friday 7th June
Thunder v Southern Vipers
Charlotte Edwards Cup
Friday 7th June 2024 (2:30pm start)
Emirates Old Trafford
Southern Vipers head to Manchester where they look to secure a much-needed win in the Charlotte Edwards Cup.
A thumping win against Western Storm at Utilita Bowl was dampened by a six-wicket defeat to South East Stars at the Oval, despite a 71-run stand between Alice Monaghan and Rhianna Southby, where the former recorded her best ever score for the Vipers.
Thunder lost out to the so far unbeaten Blaze in their match on Sunday having posted a below-part 111-9 before last year’s runners-up knocked it off in the 16th over with seven wickets in hand.

Southern Vipers have named a 14-player squad for their trip to the north west.

Thunder
Having made the eliminator in last year’s competition, Thunder currently sit in fourth place with two wins from their five matches, one point ahead of the Vipers although with an inferior net run rate.
Like the Vipers, they have been without their England stars, Kate Cross and Sophie Ecclestone, for the majority of the season, with Mahika Gaur only having featured twice in the competition so far.
Their T20 overseas signing, exciting Aussie youngster Georgia Voll, has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury that occurred during their Rose-ish clash against Northern Diamonds, but they still have a formidable batting lineup with Emma Lamb, Fi Morris, and Seren Smale.
Bowling-wise, outside the exceptional Cross, Ecclestone, and Gaur, they have ex-Viper Tara Norris and Phoebe Graham leading the pace attack, with Hannah Jones and Fi Morris with the spin.
