The 2026 season features the Rothesay County Championship, Vitality Blast and Metro Bank One Day Cup action, four Southern Brave double headers in The Hundred, England internationals and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

In 2027, international cricket returns with three newly announced fixtures, headlined by England Men facing Australia in a historic Ashes Test Match at Utilita Bowl.

On This Day: Wheal Takes Career Best

Brad Wheal tore through the Nottinghamshire batting line up to push Hampshire to victory in 2016.

Hampshire dominated Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge throughout the fixture.

Having won the toss, Will Smith - acting as captain in the absense of James Vince - decided that his side would bat first.

After losing three quick wickets, Dawson (54), Wheater (102) and Lewis McManus (56) all contributed as Hampshire went to a decent first innings total of 319.

In reply Nottinghamshire could only manage 245.

Hampshire's second innings set up the game, with Adams (99), Alsop (93), Dawson (69) and Ryan Mclaren (71) all passing fifty.

Nottinghamshire were then dismissed for 291 to give Hampshire the win by 176 runs. Wheal snarred the wickets of Mullaney, Lumb, Patel, Read, Ball and Gurney to secure career best First Class figures.
